VICTORIA CROSS AUTOGRAPH BOOK OF CANADIAN VICTORIA CROSS RECIPIENTS GATHERED AT CANADIAN NATIONAL EXHIBITION 28/8/20. The Victoria Cross is the highest military award for extraordinary valour and devotion to duty while facing a hostile force. It can be rewarded to members of the Canadian Forces of any rank in any service, and to allies serving under or with Canadian Military command. It is the highest honour in the Canadian honours system placed before all other orders, decorations & medals including the Order of Canada, in the Order of Precedence. This book is as close to a Victoria Cross as most collectors will ever get. On the first page there is a notation"Signatures Secured by ......" which is a hard to read signature followed by the letters that appear to be"MG".This is obviously the person who put the book together. The book measures 4 5/8" X 3 1/2" in width. There are thirty one V.C recipients autographs and six signatures of the "next of kin" recipients. In some cases the name of the regiment is shown, their home town is shown, their rank and other information was recorded. Most of the autographs are done in black ink and most are easily decipherable. We have pictured several samples of the autographs. A very rare and important document. The book is guaranteed authentic and can be viewed at our shop anytime during regular store hours by appointment or at any of the shows we attend.
